TABERNACLE, NEW JERSEY - 4 BIG WEEKS OF DISASTER RELIEF!
This summer, bring Junior and Senior High youth groups to Tabernacle, New Jersey.
Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on many communities in the northeast, including the coastal communities in the Long Beach Island area of central New Jersey. Residents are still cleaning up the devastation; and they need your help.
Many of the communities are continuing recovery efforts after being under water as Hurricane Sandy's winds sent sand and flood waters through the community.
Projects will be varied as you serve residents affected by flooding. You may pick up debris and clean up neighborhoods. You might tear out drywall, insulation and flooring. You might help residents repair their homes by working on projects like sheet rock installation and painting. You may repair porches, caulk windows, build wheelchair ramps, or repair water damage.
Your home-away-from-home for the week is at a church camp in the woods where you can enjoy swimming in the lake. The sleeping accommodations range from cabins with bunk beds, dormitory rooms with 4 beds, and space for sleeping bags on the floor.
The Long Beach Island communities will welcome your help and friendship! Come join us and lift the spirits of the townspeople who have suffered so much.
Space is limited. If you have the heart for serving, you can help bring hope to the Jersey coast.
