We believe a
great camp starts with a safe camp.
Safety first. Always. Period. We're
committed to encouraging camper safety throughout the entire
mission trip. We work meticulously to provide a ministry
environment where young people can serve and connect to Jesus
without in a safe environment and without distractions.
Here's just a few safety steps you have working for you,
when you serve with us:
- Camp staff are well screened. Many have served with us for
years. Just to be safe, we get references and national background
checks on all our staff.
- Campers are taught to use the proper safety equipment. Safety
videos are shown to educate participants on project site
safety.
- Much of our staff training focuses on making a safe camp for
everyone (Each trip includes staff who are first aid and CPR
certified).
- Tailgate safety checks are conducted at every Workcamp project
site and Site Coaches roam from site to site to help out when
needed and to verify that all efforts are being made to "keep it
safe."
- Every project team of 5 or 6 includes at least 1 or 2
adults.
- All adult participants (21+ years of age) have to provide
verification they passed a national criminal background check.
- Local medical facilities are identified ahead of time with
directions and phone numbers provided to participants.
- The "Code of Conduct" (for both youth and adults) helps
everyone understand how to get along together in a safe way-to make
it an awesome camp experience! There's more…much more! We just
don't have the space to cover it all here.
