Don’t worry about a lack of construction or painting experience. We’ll provide detailed project plans and skilled construction coaches. You just come with a willingness to serve.
A project crew usually includes four or five teenagers, plus one or two adults. Your kids will work with their youth group friends, and possibly some teenagers from other youth groups. Crews usually work on the same project all week, so they build close friendships—and experience the satisfaction of completing a significant job.
As soon as your group arrives on Sunday, you’ll begin making new friends from other churches across the country. You’ll eat together…worship together…and create new favorite stories together. Each person fills an important role within a crew. One person leads crew devotions, another takes care of lunch, another directs the work…each person exercises the gifts God has given him or her. There’s a good chance you and your young people will learn new skills too, and we’ll help. Plus, since we take care of the cooking and cleaning, you and your youth group have even more time to focus on growing in your faith.
Then, the daily programs will pull it all together. Our Simply Youth Ministry staff got with the Group Workcamps folks to create high-impact, interactive programs that zing—packed with music, Scripture, video, drama, and hands-on activities…they’re great. And they’re also fueled with plenty of prayer, worship, and opportunities to respond to challenges presented in the programs.
You’ll be well cared for too. A missions trip Director, Program Leader, Song Leader, and up to 14 additional trained staff handle project materials, project assignments, the office, program multimedia, project site coaching…it’s a finely tuned machine. All there so you can serve in Jesus’ name and help your kids connect with the truth of the Gospel.
