Community Service

On a five-day Community Service trip, you and your group will help under-funded, overburdened human service agencies and churches do a better job assisting people in need.

You’ll connect with people who have real needs…whose names you’ll learn…whose lives you’ll impact in Jesus’ name. As you partner with local churches and agencies helping people in need, you’ll provide a shot of energy and enthusiasm that will take ongoing efforts to the next level.

You’ll perform practical, meaningful acts of service for people who need to experience God’s love. And you’ll do it in a personal, friendly setting of less than 100 participants…ideal for getting to know everyone. Not only will you bond with people from your own youth group as you serve together, you’ll also make new friends from other churches, create new memories, and have a great time.

We’ll handle the details so you can focus on your teenagers. Your young people will learn new skills, use their gifts while serving in important roles, and have loads of fun! Your project crew will likely serve with more than one organization during the week, experiencing a variety of service projects.

You’ll tackle projects like...

maintenance, weatherization, painting, and spruce-up of homes and facilities
assisting the elderly
tutoring struggling kids
conducting a kid’s Bible club
serving at a food bank
staffing an activities camp for disabled children
engaging children at a day camp
or, improving the community in other important ways. Stay flexible!

You’ll also serve other trip participants through meal preparation, cleanup, and maintaining the facility where you spend your five days.

After each full day of service, you and your young people will experience a faith-building, interactive program that’s packed with Scripture, worship, video, drama, and prayer. All designed by our Simply Youth Ministry staff in conjunction with our Group Workcamps friends. It’s great stuff…and you’ll be more than an observer.

Evening programs are coordinated by a staff member but you, your young people, and other participants will take the lead in sharing music (so bring your instruments and best song leader chops!) and leading other program elements.

Your mission trip will be run by four ministryminded staff, including two highly trained, collegeage leaders. Bring help and hope to a community next summer. Even better: Give your group the chance to demonstrate God’s love to people through a Simply Youth Mission Trip.
