When Hurricane Ike came ashore this summer in the Golden Triangle (Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange, TX), it pushed so much water that it washed away entire neighborhoods on Bolivar Peninsula and flooded nearly every home in Bridge City. This same storm destroyed nearly every business and residence in downtown Galveston and also pushed up into the bays inundating towns like San Leon.
A hurricane is a tragedy where people are impacted for years...with homes that need cleanup, repair and sometimes pure rebuilding. And, our teams are now working to find a good location for you and your youth group to help the people of Texas next summer.
Hurricane recovery is meaningful work that you and your youth group can provide.
And if Texas is too far for your group, please consider serving in another location. When the economy is rough, it's those who have little who are impacted the most. There are many closer mission-camp locations where you can serve. Feel free to call us at 1.800.385.4545 or check out the mission trip grid to find a location to fit your time and distance.
As your teenagers put their faith in action, you’ll see God working in their lives. Working through them to serve people…working in them to deepen their walk with Christ.
Whether you’re building a wheelchair ramp, helping disabled children at a day camp, or weatherizing a widow’s home…you’ll make a real difference for people in need. (And it's fun!)
At Group Workcamps, the #1 goal is to help teens grow closer to Christ through service to people in need.
Serve from 5 to 10 days, domestic or international. Choose from more than 150 home repair or community service trips. If you're new to Group Workcamps, we invite you to learn more about us!
Give your preteens a heart for service…and a heart for God. Your kids will grow closer to Jesus and develop character as they provide meaningful, age-appropriate community service to people in need.
As your preteens organize the home of an elderly person, stock a food pantry, or tidy-up a human service agency—they’ll be learning to convey what Christ’s love looks like…and have a blast doing it! Plus, devotions and evening programs help them make the connection between their service and their faith.
Choose from 9 domestic community service trips, 5 days in length.

Give your youth group a trip that matters. A week of faith, friendship, and fun.
A week of sharing your faith through practical acts of service for families and individuals in need. A week to live-out Matthew 20:28, “For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many.”
Group Workcamps handles the registrations, organizes the trips, and nails down the details, while Doug Fields’ Simply Youth Ministry team helps with the programming and devotions.
Choose from any one of seven weeks to serve through community service/light repair. If you're new to Group Workcamps or Simply Youth Ministry, we invite you to learn more about us!
Give your teenagers a week of serving people in need through home repair—building wheelchair ramps…replacing rotting floorboards…weatherizing the home of a widow struggling to afford heating bills.
And, as your teenagers serve, God will work through them to launch spiritual growth.
The Micah Experience is designed for Catholic parishes that prefer programming specifically created for Catholic youth over ecumenical Group Workcamps. Each year, some Catholic parishes participate in The Micah Experience, and others in Group Workcamps.
The Micah Experience is developed and organized by Group Workcamps with programming help and advice from Catholic youth ministry experts across the country.
Choose a 6-day domestic home repair. If you're new to Group Workcamps or The Micah Experience, we invite you to learn more about us...or call us and we'll connect you with other parishes that have participated!
